    Hello,

I have a home network setup (3 machines going through a router to a cable modem), fairly simple stuff!.

However on one machine I keep on loosing a connection to the LAN, first of all I thought that it was would a dodgy LAN calbe so I swapped it out. I still got the same dropping connection. The only way that I can get the connection back was to switch of the router and switch it back on, so I thought that it might be the port on the router, nope!.

I have also tried downloading the latest drivers for my lan card and also for he router, still no joy. I have even swapped out the LAN card with a new one.

Now this is the strange bit!!!..... The way I have got the connection to stop dropping is by installing a program called CLEAN KMD (A program on the Kazza Lite download page). This program is meant to remove any ad-ware and spyware from Kazza.

If I do not install this program then I start to loose my connection again?? I have even tried a completly new installed of XP Pro!!.

Can anyone please expalin this to me?? as it does not make sense that by installing this program my connection is rock solid?!?!?!?!?!

    Thanks

    Steve

If you computer tries to run too many connections through other computers outside the network via kazaa, overnet, ed2k, then the router freezes because believe it or not too much activity is causing it to go wacky. Reduce the number of outgoing and ingoing transfers in kazaa or reduce the number of connections per download. This usually helps.
