    Hi guys,
I was given a VuPoint Solutions filmscanner with no manual or software. The model is FS-C1-VP
I went to the site to download the manual and the driver for it. They were both zip files. The manual came through ok, but the driver file didn't. It is a DS_STORE file. I've never come across that kind before. Anyway I unzipped it and attempted to install it as the driver, but it failed due to an error. The scanner comes up in the software's 'acquire' menu so it knows it's there. It just can't install the driver for it. I've left a message with the website but I'm hoping to resolve it quicker via you guys if anyone can help. I'm using a Vista upgrade from xp if that is useful to know. I've tried to find drivers for it but with no luck.

Looks like a ".DS_STORE" file is created by the Mac OS X. According to the article at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.DS_Store, it doesn't look like a driver. Says "desktop.ini" is the Windows equivalent of DS_STORE. The scanner is supposed to come with the "Arcsoft Software Suite and PhotoImpression 6" software.

Not that I can help much but have you tried using something like, XnView or IrfanView to try and access the scanner? One of those(or others you may have installed) might be able to access it via WIA(Windows Image Acquisition).
