I have a malware infection that keeps opening random websites trying to get me to "upgrade my media player." I believe that it is related to C:\Users\Michael Marziale\AppData\Roaming\DSite. Not sure where I picked that up, but I've researched this enough to believe that is at least partially responsible for my problems. Anyway, I read the read me file, you'll find all my logs attached. Thanks for any help you can provide!

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

You have all of the below running:
    SpybotSD TeaTimer
    Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2013
    Ad-Aware Browsing Protection
    Ad-Aware Antivirus

You must never have more that one antivirus program installed at anytime. Also Spybot's Teatimer is not recommended as it has long been a problem with hogging system resources and causing conflicts with other programs. I suggest you uninstall Ad-aware since it is not very good and keep Kaspersky. Also Ad-Aware installs the junk Blekko Toolbar which will be removing below.

Please download OTM by Old Timer and save it to your Desktop.
    • Run OTM.exe by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, Win7 or Win8, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).
    • Copy the lines from the below codebox to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C
(or, after highlighting, right-click and choose Copy): Do not include the word Code: which is just a title line of
      the code box
    Code:
    :Processes
    explorer.exe

    :Files
    C:\Users\Michael Marziale\AppData\Roaming\DSite\UpdateProc\UpdateTask.exe
    C:\Users\Michael Marziale\AppData\Roaming\DSite
    C:\ProgramData\blekko toolbars
    C:\Windows\tasks\DSite.job
    C:\Users\Michael Marziale\AppData\Local\Temp\*/*
    :Commands
    [purity]
    [EmptyTemp]
    [start explorer]
    [Reboot]
    • Return to OTM, right click in the Paste List of Files/Folders to Move window (under the yellow bar
      ) and choose Paste.
    • Now click the large http://forums.majorgeeks.com/chaslang/images/MoveIt!.png button.
    • If OTM asks to reboot your computer, allow it to do so. The report should appear in Notepad after the reboot.
    • Close OTM.
Now navigate to the C:\_OTM\MovedFiles folder ( assuming your Windows drive is C). This is where your log will be
saved in the form of Date and Time mmddyyyy_hhmmss.log. Just look for the most recent .log file. Attach
this log file to your next message.

Now please download Junkware Removal Tool to your desktop.
    • Shut down your protection software now to avoid potential conflicts.
    • Run the tool by double-clicking it. If you are using Windows Vista or Seven, right-mouse click it and select Run as Administrator.
    • The tool will open and start scanning your system.
    • Note: That JRT may reset your home page to a google default so you will need to restore your home page setting if this happens.
    • Please be patient as this can take a while to complete depending on your system's specifications.
    • On completion, a log (JRT.txt) is saved to your desktop and will automatically open.
    • Attach JRT.txt to your next message.
Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, Win7 or Win8, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).

    Then attach the below logs:
    • the C:\_OTM\MovedFiles log
    • the JRT.TXTlog
    • C:\MGlogs.zip
Make sure you tell me how things are working now!

Here are the logs you requested. Everything appears to be running fine at the moment, though I'll have to wait and see if the random browser windows continue to open. Thanks for the help!

I don't see it in the thread, but it says I have already uploaded MG logs, and won't let me load that one.

    You're welcome.
You are trying to attach the same old log. You need to follow the instructions I gave to run C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat to create a new log.

Here is the last file. Everything appears to be working correctly today. Haven't seen any windows opening by themselves since we finished yesterday. Thanks again, guys!

You're welcome. The below is still installed and loading. Did you forget to uninstall it? You need to remove this. It cannot be run along side Kaspersky or any other protection software.

    Ad-Aware Browsing Protection
