DSO Exploit

ok, i know there is so many posts on this... but really im not a huge computer person, but i have that Spybot thing and it keeps coming up w/ 5 entries of DSO Exploit. i tried to "fix the problem", i tried changing the value to 3, i got spyware blaster and yeah... but both my computers are connected because i got DSL, and well, ive had bad luck w/ computers in the past, and i really cant have either of them crash again. does anyone know if this DSO exploit thing is dangerous at all? and how i can get rid of it if it is?

 

Those 5 DSO Exploits are a known bug in the new version of Spybot and they are working to try to correct them. You might try downloading again just to see if they are now offering a version that has the fix in it.

 

I've read too that they will correct them, but I have version 1.3 and downloaded detection updates on 8-20-04 and then ran SpyBot and it still found the 5 DSO Exploits. You can either let the program find them and YOU just ignore them or you can go in and change the settings to "ignore" them so the program won't find them and show DSO Exploits in the results.

To do this go up to top left where it says FILE MODE LANGUAGE HELP and click on MODE and go to "advanced", then click in the left column on "settings". Then in left column click on "ignore products" and then find "DSO EXPLOIT" listed in the "all products" tab (it's a good time to make sure nothing else there has a check mark!!). Now the program WON'T find DSO and list it.

BUT to be safe, you might want it to find them, and you just ignore it for now, and when they fix their "bug" you won't have to worry about whether or not you've change/re-changed a setting.
