Is there a way to set up a 2 hard drive dual boot with 98 SE and XP where XP was installed first (currently 98 SE is my C: drive and XP my F:) so that XP recognizes that 98 SE is there and sets up a dual boot menu like it does the other way around. I need to reformat my 98 SE drive and don't really want to have to do it with XP also and have to strt totally over with both.
    Athlon900, 784 Ram, ATI Radeon 7000 AGP 64 MB, Soundblaster16 PCI. Thanks.

    Hi Tux,
I am not a coputer tech genius. Could you please explain this thing in simple terms and sort of walk me through it. At work now won't be able to do anything till tonight.

do you understand how to make the backup copy? I'm not 100% on the right syntax for your system. So it may take a couple tries at it.

EDIT: I forgot to ask if you are set on it being XP that is the boot loader. Because there is a download for a bootloader here at majorgeeks. It might just be simpler to do it that way.

I don't really care as far as that goes just as long as I'd still be able to see all files in 98 SE from XP and vice Versa. Sometimes if I have to delete a file (spyware or whatever and it wouldn't let me do it in 98 SE I'd boot into XP and delete it from there as well as copying downloads I did in 98 SE to XP.
That MS article you linked me to was way beyond my understanding. Sorry if my previous post sounded a little abrupt but there was a computer problem here at work and we had to make a quick exit out of the system. Thanks for the help.

    then I'd download this:

I recommend installing to a floppy, that way if there is a problem, the boot sector isn't hosed. I'm only saying that because it is best to err on the side of caution IMO.

Will I be downloading just an EXE that has to be opened or the actual program? If EXE do I download i to my usual download location and install it to the floppy (Hope the progrm isn't bigger than 1.44 mg, that is the usual floppy capacity, right)? What then have the system boot from the floppy?
