I currently have win 2k and I was trying to upgrade to win xp, but I caught an error message stating that it could not continue. It displayed error codes:0x0000007B, 0xF78DA63C, 0XC0000034 and claiming that there might be a virus. How do I fix this problem or how do I get rid of the the choice of win 2000 or win xp in the boot file so that it only boots win 2000.

Your post seems illogical. You start by saying you have Win 2K and end by saying "so that it only boots win 2000." So, why are you installing Win XP?

Like I said, I was TRYING TO UPGRADE TO XP. But the install process failed.

How do I get rid of the xp when it boots up.
