Hey all. Has anyone had experience dual booting with RC1 or a previous build? Im relatively sure I know how to do it but being a beta and all, would it require me to format my drive, partition, and then install both OSs (XP/Vista)? Any links to a good guide would be appreciated if you dont wanna take the time to type it all out. Thanks

I'm dual booting between XP Home and Vista. You just need to install it on a seperate partition. Just specify the drive letter to install it to. The one small problem I ran into was Vista requires a USB mouse vice a PS2.

i dual booted it back when it was project longhorn! i just made a seperate partition with, partition magic i think, and then installed it to that. ran like crap but i did it.

You can keep your XP, just make a new partition using XP's disk management and install it there, if you have the space. Better would be on a seperate clean drive like I have. You will then have, on reboot, a choice screen to boot into legacy (XP) or Vista. BTW, using a 3rd party partitioning SW will probably screw your Vista install. Enjoy!

PS RC1 isn't out yet, the current build is 5536 though the install procedure will be probably the same. I doubt MS will screw around with that at this point. Maybe next week for RC1.

    EDIT: Sorry, I see the topic title using 5536, it's a pre-RC1 build. ;)
