Ok. I have two partitions, both reasonably the same size with a 250GB split in half. One already has Vista on it while the other is a blank NTFS partition.

What I want to do is install XP onto that blank NTFS partition. However, when I put in the disc and format the partition to NTFS <QUICK> and it restarts it says there is a disk read error and keeps wanting me to ctrl+alt+del.

Is this a common problem and what does it mean?
