Alright, I know this is the lounge, but I'm not sure where the question should go, so if someone does, could they move the topic?

Anyway, I have an AMD 64-bit dual core processor in my computer and I'm wondering if there's a way to set it so that some programs automatically use only one processor. Some command line switch or even program.

At current I have two games which encounter problems, one simply ends up with stuttering, the other ends up crashing if I don't ALT-TAB out and switch off one of the processors. Is there a way to do this?

And searches have revealed tons of results and no answers.

I don't know if you can set it up to do automatically but you could start the game, go into Services, right click the game service and choose affinity and set for 1 processor only. (This works in Vista for folding.)
I seem to recall a program that does this but it may be only the priority that it controls.

Thanks, I'll give that a try.

EDIT: So I'm doing the above manually, because the latter won't even install on 64-bit machines. Thanks anyway.
