Dual sound?

Currently using a HDMI cable for digital video and audio to a HDTV. I have a monitor connected via video card as well with it having built in speakers (uses a 3.5mm for sound).

I want to run sound via HDMI and 3.5, one for the TV the other for the monitor. I know I can change the sound preference in Sound Properties but I would like to have sound from both at the same time. Walk around from the tv to the monitor and listen to what I was at the TV.

    Anyone have any ideas?

My bet is that if you can get the sound, which I think you can, it will not quite be in sync. That is, there will be a slight, but definitely noticeable delay with one of the sources. And I think, unless the distance is so great you cannot hear one set of speakers when near the other set, that delay will muddle everything and not sound good at all. And besides, the tiny speakers built into the monitor will never be able to reproduce quality sound. The better solution may be to run the audio to an external amplifier and then use that to power a larger set of speakers that will then cover the whole area.
