Dual Video Card/Monitor issue

I have a NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 video card with a analog Dell monitor attached. I put in a Trident Video Accelarator 96XX/938X video card in a spare PCI slot with a KFC monitor. The BIOS settings are set to have the PCI card be the primary display unit. I updated the NVIDIA card drivers, and when I restart the computer to finish the installation, the only display is on the KFC monitor in Trident PCI card. I went to the control panel to try to turn the other one on and the Dell Plug & Play monitor won't show up.

Also, when I roll-back the NVIDIA drivers and go back to the two displays, there are little lines that go up the screen, get to the top, and start back over at the bottom.

    Thanks

dont believe thats how dual display output works (as far as im concerned) you cant have an agp video out and a pci video out at the same time; having dual display requires you to have both video outs off the same card (as long as the card supports it)

I have an FX5200 AGP and an MX400 PCI (both nVidia) except I have the AGP as primary and PCI as secondary. Driver conflicts, possibly?

OK cool didnt know; possibilities are endless :) . Maybe driver conflicts; mfg board conflicts; windows OS conflicts etc...that trident card is really really old.

wouldn't you want the 5200 as the primary as the trident is the inferior card?

I have also read somewhere that the pci video card should be in the top slot (one closest to cpu)if possible.

    Cobra,

I hope you figured out your problem. May I ask what OS you're using with the Trident 96xx? I'm trying to set up a dual-monitor system at work on a Dell Win2K system and the card will not respond. Any suggestions would be appreciated, expecially if you got things running.

Nevermind. It was a BIOS setting on the Dell. I had to change the BIOS setting from AGP to Auto and everything is working fine. A monitor with 1024 x 768 and 16-bit color is better than no second monitor at all :).
