    Hey there!

I have been trying to install Dues EX for three days now without success.

Everytime I try to run the installation wizard from the disk, a window says that the "program has encountered a problem and has to close" and asks if I want to send an error report.

I have been looking on forums and have tried updating the install sheild for my game version (9.0.0.333) and the version above that (on the off chance). One site said making an image of the file and mounting that image might work but the same problem persists.

Although the disk is a copy, I can't see how it would be corrupt as surely it wouldn't let me open the disk and select the installation program in the first place? I have also ran scan disk and freed up some hard drive space and eventhough my system isn't great by any stretch of the imagination, it can run far newer and more demanding games without any problems and again, I cant see how any of these aspects would stop the installation.

I've looked on the eidos website to no avail and am extremely frustrated  . I'll give some details of my system but I really dont think its the issue. Is there any chance that it's just the installaion program on the CD thats corrupt? If so what on earth do I do???? Please don't say buy the game!

    256 SDram
    850mhz Duron Processor
120gb hard drive (3gb left on the detination partition, if only I could get that far)
64mb DDR XP 3800 Pine 3d phantom graphics card
    Running Windows XP professional

    Help me please!!

    leave the kid alone :)

3 things to add... firstly I've played the game and it's totally whack compared to the first one  . It was made for an xbox not a pc and the original is far better. Not just my opinion it is a fact. Secondly to be fair mate those system specs wouldn't run the game at more than 5fps, even at lowest detail. I had an athlon TBird 1300 with a geforce 4ti 4800 and it ran like a 3 legged dog. Thirdly it may be a bad rip of the game. I remember DX2 had some strange variant of safedisc all over the middle of the disc. The original even didn't install in a lot of PC's it was that heavy. Throw it away and get a real game.

What do you mean by leave the kid alone?

"The kid" apparently doesn't have a legal copy of the game, which we don't support.

As far as SafeDisc is concerned, it has nothing to do with this problem or this game as it doesn't use it.

Even if it did, it doesn't give you an error message as posted. This has nothing to do with copy protection.
