Duplicate Pic Finder/eliminater

I have a gazzillion pictures with a bunch of different naming conventions which frustrates my attempts at cleaning my picture files.
I have tried various duplicate finders but they come up a little short. The last app I tried sent all my originals to the trash and kept the copies, and the copies of copies. I have inherited family pics from family members over the years and the naming conventions are all over the place. It is such a mess on my PC regarding pics that I have nearly given up on the effort. I dont mind paying for good software, I just need it to really really work at flushing out copies.

Any thoughts would be appreciated

Dup Detector, Glary Utilities duplicate finder are the two that I have tried recently. I have tried several over the years but it has been a while. I gave up hope of ever finding the right app. I just kept waiting for technology to become more advanced in this area. I am just now restarting my efforts at finally cleaning this mess. Dup Detector worked well because it analyzed the pixels so it was spot on, however the UI is not great, the learning curve was steep to accurately use it. So I just hoped someone out there has a better alternative.

 

And then the problem of assigned numbers. I looked for a picture file titled 0002 and a dozen different 0002 pics were listed on the PC. I need a program where I can load every picture I have, sort the duplicates and renames the files by date. Anything like that out there?
