Ok, I've burnt some dvd's, which is great, but then after looking at my hard drive , my once 30 free gig, is down to 4 gig. Soooo, where are these files hiding, and how do I get rid of them, I couldn't find this information on google, so any help would be appreciated.

When you are done burning your DVD's make sure that you delete the Image file or the ISO because that takes up a lot of space.

Perfect, I know that's the problem, but WHERE are these files, that's the real problem, should've posted that up before, btw, I'm using DVD Shrink.

Check the settings/preferences/options for DVD Shrink. It should tell you where it stores the ISO files (if the program doesn't ask you where you want to save it) and should allow you to change the folder if you choose to.

Well, that would be the obvious choice, but it doesn't have it. I found one of the 4 gig .ISO files and deleted it, and it didn't give me back ANY hard drive space... soo..

Do a search for all .ISO files. :)

If all else fails just do a search on your computer for the videos that you burned. If the ISO's are on your computer it will show them. You can also download CCleaner here on MG:

This will get rid of all the other junk on your computer like temp. files.

It finds no .ISO files, and the one I found this morning, I deleted. And it was 4 gigs. After I deleted it , it still said that I had 4 gig left on the hard drive.. they're not being deleted or somethin.

Did you download CCleaner like I had posted earlier?

Yes, and it freed 160 meg.

Did you do a Windows search for all .ISO files?

If that fails, open up Windows Explorer in a list view, and look to see what files or folders are taking up all your space.

If it's not that, then perhaps you have a virus or something that is growing larger and larger????????

Wait did you search for ISO files or your movies. Like put in the names of the movies you burned in the search.

Yes, I found Gladiator.Iso, I deleted it, and it freed up nothing.

Have you tried a restart? Is it sitting in your recycle bin?

    This is a little weird...

Woot, Ok, there wasn't ANYTHING in the recycle bin, But, I purged the NORTON PROTECTED files, and it freed up all the space! Yay!

Did you search for all the movies that you burned. If you have found one, that probably means there's others.

@krazykrl:: you don't have to restart just empty the recycling bin. But that is a good idea that he could have things sitting in there. But CCleaner gets rid of all the stuff in the recycling bin.

There's like 2 recycle beens with Norton, there's regular, and "Norton Protected" I just went the the norton protected (which empties iteself every 7 days) and purged it all. So, it freed it all up!:) thanks:)

Wow, how much crap was in there lol. alright well im glad that you have it fixed now and in the future you know what it means ^_^

BTW, you may want to keep CCleaner on there just in case.

If you right click on Recycle Bin and select properties you can disable the Norton Protection on the Recycle Bin. I find it to be a nuisance.
