I have tried uninstalling and installing it, but it still doesn't work. When I go into device properties, it says the drive is working fine. Any CD I put in (DVD, CD-RW, music CD, games) does not get detected. The green light comes on, and it sounds as if it is trying to work, and then nothing happens. I'm sorry if this isn't enough information but Im not too good with computers....at all.

Also, I opened it up and unplugged and replugged everything in there, but I really don't think the cables are the problem.

I also tried a cleaning CD (it has little brushes on it) and even that didn't get detected.

    Help me please!

Put a CD or DVD in the drive. Open My Computer and right click the optical drive and select Explore. Can you see what files are on the CD?
It could be a simple case of auto runs turned off.

yeah of course that was the first thing I did, but it doesnt make A difference, it wont detect anything, even if I explore it or go to my computer.
