DVD decoder

    is there a good free dvd decoder that supports windows Vista WMP10 and is able to play DVD's in 5.1 surround sound?

    You can install the Vista Codec Pack which includes DVD decoders that will work with WMP. Personally, I'm not a big fan of WMP, therefore I use VLC Media Player which has its own codecs built-in, or I'll use Media Player Classic which is bundled with several excellent codec packs, including the KLite Mega Pack which is the only codec pack I have installed on my home PC, and between that and VLC, I've never had files that I cannot play.
