DVD drive isn't detecing my World of Warcraft CD!

Yeah, I only have a DVD drive and for some reason it's not detecting. I've returned it and planning on getting a CD-Rom drive. We'll see how it works but would you know why it isn't detecting it? also I can use the solution anyway cus if i get back my computer with the CD-rom I would know what to do and why it's happening.

my brother also had this problem, and his is even a DVD burner! (Lite-On SOHW 1653s) I'm not sure what caused it, but my slightly newer burner (Lite-On SOHW 1673s) read it no problem-- so i simply made a disc image for him and transferred it over our home network.

My guess is that its written differently than a normal DVD, and perhaps a Firmware update on an older DVD-ROM or DVD burner would solve the reading issue, but I'm not certian.
