Hello all, I have an HP TouchSmart 300-1007 Desktop purchased back in 2010. The DVD drive has recently stopped recognizing the disk. I have tried using a data disk and a DVD movie, still will not read. Device manager states it is working properly. I have run a malware scan and checked to see if the DVD driver was out of date. Neither of those has solved the issue. My research online has shown that this is common to the DVD that came with the system. It is an Optiarc DVD RW AD-7640S. I have been searching for a replacement, but have only found one that are for Dell laptops. Would that work on my system, or is there a compatible one I can use. Sorry for the long post.
