not sure if this is hardware or software, but i can no longer change my region settings on my pc dvd player, i.e i have used all 5 chances of changing region. is there anyway i can get this back or is it gone for ever boo hoo.

There is software out for that .. look up region free or anydvd - or look for region free firmware for your model/brand of player.
