DvD Mounting Software Real dvd problem

hey there, right now I am using windows 7 64bit .. earlier .. i had windows xp 32 on my older system.
On my older system, i tried using deamon tools, and it somehow corrupted my real dvd combo writer. I tried uninstalling deamon tools but the problem persisted .. the dvd drive does not work .. whether whatever kind of a cd is been put in it.
I tried installing windows again and again .. and many times but this does not solve the problems .. the dvd drive was there but it rendered no use to me, laters I tried alcohol 100% .. and the dvd writer was already not working.

Well now, I am on my new laptop with windows 7 64bit .. and i need to mount the dvd image but i m afraid if i installed any of the virtual dvd mounter .. it can affect my real dvd writer .. can anybody suggest a solution ..cuz i dont want to lose my real dvd and use my virtual drive as well .. Please ..

 

Are you trying to Read the DVD's and play them you might need a Codec i would use this Codec pack.http://majorgeeks.com/CCCP_Combined_Community_Codec_Pack_d6093.html

Your Posting is kinda confusing on what is going on.

 

I have never had any problem with having daemon tools installed and using my phyiscal dvd burner to burn stuff. You should always be able to uninstall daemon tools and it should restore things back to before also.

 

okie .. lemme elaborate a little, i want to mount virtual drives, saved on my hard disk but my past experiences told me that whenever i tried to install a virtual dvd mounter it crashed my real dvd writer drive .. which cost me a lot of trouble .. now i m in a situation that i have to mount a virtual drive again but i m not sure which one to use .. so that i get no crash again, sorry for making it a little confused

 

you are lucky to have no problem !!! but my problems started with deamon tools .. so m stuck now ..
