DVD only work with CD's.

    I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop with a DVD drive but it only reads CD's but not DVD's.. Any ideas?

    Has it ever read DVD's? Or is the a recent development? And is it all types of DVD's ie movies and data DVD's?

    From what I was told from the person that gave it to me it's been some time that it has not read DVD's. As far a types of DVD's I only tried a move DVD so far.
