Since reinstall on Windows XP, DVD's interactive functions llike clicking a chapter or following a link seem not to work. I've tried the same DVD on WMP. WinDVD&, and Interactual players and none work. You can hear the DVD player trying to find the place, but just keeps grinding away. I have to kill the app to stop it. This doesn't sound like a software issue, and the unit does play most other DVD's fine. Any ideas?

    Two things come to mind:

    1. Is the DVD is good condition? Scratches and dirt will cause these symptoms. You can clean the disk by gently brushing from the centre outwards with a lint free cloth.

    2. How old is the DVD drive? Over time, the reading lens on CD/DVD drives become dirty, and it introduces read errors, and reduces playback functionality. Lens cleaners can be purchased relatively cheaply from any major office supply or electronics store, and often does wonders for optical drives.
