DVD-R Discs, Not compatible....

Hi People,

My Girlfriend brought me a pak of 10 Media Cache MCDVDPR DVD +R Discs, I've just finishing burning my 10th one just now, backing up as much data I needed from my hard drive as possible..

Well my brother who has a P4 2.53, 512MB Mem, GF MX, etc he has an Aopen DVD reader, now he wanted to get some files off me, and I only have them on DVD Disc now, anyway, he cant read them, actually, his machine cant even detect them..

Any idea why that is? My DVD Burner is 'HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA 4082B', It burns virtually ALL DVD discs, my brothers DVD Reader is an Aopen, Dunno which model, I`ll try seek that out shortly, but it isnt that old, bought roughly the same time as the machine, about january last year......

Is there a way to get it to read it in WindowsXP?

Its an Aopen DVD /AMH, thats all it says in Device Manager, he defintely will not allow me to open his Full ATX Tower, he loves his machine to death, the case is a nice shiny FULL server looking case with window kit and neon lights, neon HSF Fans etc, I built it originally, but his one of these fanatics that are very 'over' protective about his hardware.... I dunno... argh

 

Managed to get the side of the case open, its an Aopen 1648, thats all it says the model is, I went to Aopen.com.tw/en/ and I found some firmware updates, dont quite understand them, but it says there to check the model firmware thats already in, how does one do this? also I cant use a win98SE bootdisk for dos promt because it cant see the hard drives (aka their NTFS not FAT16/32)...


Any idea on where to go from here? I am not used to doing this stuff, also, should I search for updated firmware for my DVDRW? or COMBO DRIVE
