dvd-r dvd+r

Can I use the dvd+ r to record on a 3 year old Dell as I have been doing with a DVD-R? I got a stack of DVD+R by mistake.
Googling seems to say there is no difference to me but I need to be sure.

Yes.

They are just competing standards but work the same way in the end.

One ends up being more compatible on non-PC machines, but I don't recall which. I think it was the -R.

You probably paid more for them too.

The search I did said +r is more compatible but I wanted to ask members here.
My wife got a stack of 10 for $3.00 at Staples.
I will let you know when the occasion arises.
Speecy said all three optical drives are compatible with -r and +r for both read and write..
I just used it, Speecy, today.

 

I was wondering why my AVI movies don't play on my 2 DVD players?
(wrong file type). they play on my PC.
