    Lost In Translation
I thought Bill Murray was excellent and so was Scarlett Johansson
    Directed by Sofia Coppola.

    As Good As It Gets

    Babel
Unlike anything I've ever seen. Excellent.

    The Incredibles
Great story, great animation, very well done.

    Open Range

Omg! How good is The Walking Dead?

Clint Eastwood's Gran Torino is pretty great.

Do you like funny? 'The Hangover' is pretty freakin funny.

Rikky Wile E. Coyote - One of a kind

The walking dead is just, amazing.I held out watching it because I was sick zhombies, what a mistake! The only problem with it is they only made 6 episodes in the first season,if you'd call that problem.

It has so much potential for stories/scripts its just mind boggling and what's better than other series, series's,serie:confused :-D such as Lost "which I hated after the first season" your not watching every episode just tryna find out WTH is going on,constantly being drip fed and disappointed:confused You know exactly what's happened and just want to know where the story goes and what happens to the characters and more than that I just enjoy the whole feel and predicament.

I'm so glad they didn't make too much of flashbacks to previous lives such as in Lost and heroes, that format has become so cliche.

Hangover is probably the funniest movie in the last couple of years, definitely competing with Superbad.

Ok, I thought of a couple more.

    Session 9
This movie isn't so much scary as it is just creepy and it really, really messes with your head.

    Balls of Fury

    Training Day

    Malibu's Most Wanted
I thought this movie was outrageously stupid and hilarious.

Most of my movie picks are either action movies or stupid-funny comedies. You have to really like stupid comedies in order to enjoy these ones but when I want to watch something funny, these are the types of movies I go for :-D

I read something about it in one of my magazines. I hadn't heard of it until it was over. It's much better done and acted than most movie theater versions of this subject.

I couldn't find it for free on demand, so I wound up renting the first episode on Amazon to see if I'd like it. lmao....mistake. I ended up paying for all 6 episodes in about 3 days. I was more than a little pissed off when they came back on for a second run on AMC about 2 weeks after I paid for them. :-D Ah well, they were worth it.

I can't wait for the 2nd season. It's going to be more episodes than the first.

I missed the run in december but it ran again over the last few weeks and I watched every episode in 1080pHD.It doesn't scale great to HD because the whole thing is shot on small lens 8mm camera's to give it that dated gritty feel like an old zhombie movie.I'm not really fan I prefer clear, crisp and smooth HD but it definitely gives it the feel they wanted.

I think a lot of modern TV shows have a much darker feel than ones of old, more silent pauses, under acted, swearing ect. and I think its great:)The sci-fi audience is finally being given some respect.Stargate universe or Battlestar Gallactica are two example of the new darker sci fi show, the Walking Dead is darker still and focus's more on an adult audience.

Did you know the star Andrew Lincoln is British?

In the SciFi genre, I've really enjoyed FireFly lately which according to the channel guide info is from 2002 but I was not aware of it before.

    I think it's a good show.

There are only 14 episodes unfortunately,I wanted to watch it but I don't like shows that don't end properly.Same with Threshold I wanted to watch the re-run the other night but I found out it was cancelled after about 6 episodes had aired and then they hurriedly made a final episode that quickly rounded the whole show off.

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0460686/

I just think what's the point investing time into show if it will have mega anti climax.

    Oooo, BUMMER :(
I know what you mean about disappointing anti-climax.
I've seen some movies that almost made me want to puke and some that made me angry
'cause they had such a crummy ending. :puke I mean, why did I waste my time and Attention to watch such a piece of junk.

Didn't know about Firefly being so limited, but I have wondered why they have been showing
    so many repeats.

    Warehouse 13
    Justified
    Boardwalk Empire
    Terriers

Its pretty easy watching,if there could be one then it's definitely a lazy show but not in a boring sense.

The dialogue though is amazing it's some of the best I've ever heard, the back and fourths between the characters always make me smile, always witty and sharp.

On the subject of forking out for a TV series, I bought the complete first and second seasons of Route 66 on DVD.
    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0053534/
Watched only a few episodes so far but there's a different location every week. Opening ep was set in what looked like a ghost town. After that, New Orleans and even an offshore oil ring.

PS: Route 66 also featured a lot of well-known and soon-to-be-well-known names. I've spotted George Kennedy, Bruce Dern and Ed Asner already. Also, Patty McCormack - better known perhaps as Rhoda Penmark http://www.imdb.com/media/rm2943064064/ch0028788.

You know I gave the first season a really good go and I couldn't get into all, through every episode I there was a thought at the back of my head "What are you arguing about now you bunch of tools?":-D

They all have little sayings and do speeches like John Wayne or something, even the woman sound like they're from 40 years ago.

Even if you don't "I don't." Give Game of Thrones a try.

I didn't want to watch it at first but I caught a couple of episodes by accident and now I'm hooked, its nothing like other similar shows.Made specifically for adults with everything that entails 'lots of cake:-D' swearing, blood, death the lot.

Made by HBO who make the best TV shows IMO,Sopranos,The Wire, curb your enthusiam, six feet under ect.

  36. Rikky

Rikky Wile E. Coyote - One of a kind

No magic or dragons,I don't like magic and dragons:wave I lose interest when they start talking about which spell beats which and going on a adventure to get a stoopid talesman that can defeat all dark magic and crap:-D

This is more chopping people up with broadswords, burning people alive,F-ing and blinding, naked cake, large army battles ect.ect.In the last couple of episodes I watched a guy chop off a horses head and another guy got molten gold poured on his head which cooked his brain:-D

What I like about it most is there's less of all that 'well to do' Shakespearean fancy talk, the characters for the most part talk like regular people. Some of character may be hard for Americans to understand, there are a few Amercians in it but with pretty good British accents.

I was just reminded of one that I saw several years ago.

    Japanese Story

It stars Toni Collette who does some of the most incredible acting I've ever seen.

There is one scene in which there is very little happening except Toni's acting,
which is so realistic and so horrific that I could not watch it a second time.
    She is absolutely amazing!
