I have a "SONY Black IDE DVD Burner Model DW-Q30A BK - OEM", and i installed it it and showed up on My Computer, once it installed. Then when trying to open Nero, the computer froze and I had to force shutdown with power button. When i restarted, it recognizes it, but it won't install the driver. This is OEM, so i don't have a driver, but it asks me to install it. What can I do??????????

As you didn't specify what OS that you're using, I will assume that it is XP, and there shouldn't be any driver that you have to install as Windows provides them. The fact that it is an OEM device shouldn't matter.

Go to Control Panel\System\Device Manager\Hardware and find your DVD drive, delete it and reboot. Windows should find it and install the necessary drivers. Hope this helps!:)

It doesn't matter what version of Windows it is.

Since 95b, they natively support CD/DVD drives. You don't need to worry about drivers.

Are you sure it's physically installed correctly, and is it just Nero that has a problem?

    What does Device Manager say?
