Dvd-rw ?!

I have a load of RW discs that i've used, now i want to re-use them but i can't do it!!
I use Nero StartSmart Essentials. When i put the disc in and go to erase, the erase option isn't valid (like the icon is there but i can't click on it).

So instead i go to the discs folder to click erase, but thats not an option so instead i click format, which supposedly erases everything but then when i go back to Nero apparently i still have stuff on the disc?!

Maybe you have noticed i'm not much of a 'computer wizz'

Can someone please help me?

Is there a thingy to download to erase the stuff?

 

I know it is an obvious question but are you sure the discs are rewritable and not just DVD-R?

Maybe give another writing program a quick try to see if it will have the erase option available. CDburnerXP has an easy erase option. There is a portable version which might be a good choice since you just want to test it http://cdburnerxp-portable.en.softonic.com/

I just looked at the portable version and it has a toolbar bundled into it, so don't use that link.

In the middle of the page is Download Locations, just click on one of the Download@Majorgeeks listings. When the program is done downloading just double-click the file to install.
