DVD will not read

    I have Two DVD drives neither will read Plank Media or even movies from the store. They use to both work but somewere down the line settings have changed. I have even uninstalled the DVDs shut down the computer, unpluged the drives, restarted the computer, run regcure. then pluged them back in and it loaded them back in with out even telling me it found new hardware. DOES ANYONE HAVE A CLUE? here are my stats:

    >Pioneer DVD-Rom DVD-116
    >Firmware 1.22
    >Read speed 40x
    >Supported Read - DVD + -R, DVD + - RW, DVD + DL, CD Text, C2 Error

    >TDK DVDRW0404 N
    >Firmware 1.0c
    >Read speed 40x
    >Write Speed 16x
    >Supported Write rverything but DVD+R or +RW

    Configurations -
    >Primary IDE - Master Maxtor stm3200820A - DMA on (hard drive)
    >SlaveMaxter 4W060HH
    >Secondary IDE - Master Pioneer DVD - ROM DVD -116 DMA on
    >intel(R) 82081BA/BAW USB Universal Host Controller - 2444

    look for upper & lower filters in the regitery

    back up before deleteing,

    remove, drivers for them
    remove IDE controllers for them,
    reboot & try it
