DVD writing software without search bars?

Tonight I was attempting to download some decent DVD software so I could copy a game DVD which I had repaired to an image. Then I would burn it to a new disk for safe keeping. I thought that I might find some decent freeware programs here at mejorgeeks.com .

I have downloaded two programs thus far that seemed to be sponsored by the same creepy search bar provider. I have grown suspicious of this type of software as I have found often that shortly after I install it, I seem to get a new nasty trojan on my computer. Call me superstitious, but it is starting to look as if a lot of this software has been made by the same company with a few variations, and then popped up on the net with a new name, to be changed a few months later to something else when people get disgusted with their last software program.

I mean really... Is there any software left out there of good reputation that can be found free of this type of garbage? Once I encounter the invitation to sign on to search bar installations and such, I have learned it is probably a good idea to abandon that installlation and follow it with a good scan of my computer for malware.

 

I was just going to recommend Nero Free, but then found on their website that the free version now includes the nasty Ask Toolbar.

But you can opt out unless you click on everything without looking. Get your downloads from reputable sites, like the one you're on now, and read everything in the installer window before clicking or checking any boxes and you'll stay toolbar free. BTW, I'm using Burnaware.
