How to convert dvdrip file into dvd (.VOB) file?

If you want to burn the rip (probably a .AVI file), simply use DVD Flick, a free download in the MultiMedia section here at Major Geeks. It will convert the file and burn it to a DVD in +/- 90min depending on your PC. It's VERY easy to use, but here's a link to a how-to guide: http://beginwithsoftware.com/videoguides/dvd-flick-guide.html I use DVD Flick all the time, and in over 50 conversions and burns, I've NEVER had a bad disc... never. It's not an extension I've ever heard of. If you can view the file with a media player (like VLC, or DivX, or GOMplayer, or XVid, etc) then the extension may not matter..... it's the encoding and having the needed codecs that is more important. If you have problems playing the file on your PC with one of the players I mentioned, go to the Multimedia downloads here at MajorGeeks and grab a good codec pack (link to KLite's Mega Pack: http://www.majorgeeks.com/K-Lite_Mega_Codec_Pack_d5230.html) and that should let you play it....

I want to be able to play it on regular DVD players. I tried to burn with nero, but still, I’m not able to watch in regular DVD player. (Nero created .cue and . bin files).

 

Nero 7 Ultra will burn your .avi file to a DVD playable on most home players.

1. Go Start, Nero 7 Ultra, Photo & Video, Nero Vision,
2. Click on Make DVD,
3. Select DVD-Video,
4. Click on Add Video Files.

The rest is fairly intuitve.
