    i went to use the dvdrw and it would not work i checked my computor and the dvdrw + cdrom were not listed. they are listed in device manager but both have yellow ! next to them. there is power to both drives as i can see them light up + they are detected on startup + i took both off the cable and put them back 1 by 1 still no luck. i even uninstalled them and reinstall nothing still the same. they are both enabled in device manager .

    i did have a problem +-2 days ago where the computer just kept rebooting i uninstalled SONIC MYDVD and all seemed ok. but i cannt say if this caused the problem as today is the first time that i went to use the drives

    are you sure you're using the latest drivers for your drives and are they enabled in computer management? go to start>control panel>administritive options>computer management.

    i take it you're on xp? if we could have your system spec that may help too, including psu wattage!

    I've got this for a error code 39. Might have something to do with the program you uninstalled. Backup your registry & give it a go.

    WARNING: If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.

    To resolve this behavior, follow these steps:

    1. Start Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe).
    2. Locate the UpperFilters value under the following key in the registry:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
    3. On the Edit menu, click Delete, and then click OK.
    4. Locate the LowerFilters value under the same key in the registry:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
    5. On the Edit menu, click Delete, and then click OK.
    6. Quit Registry Editor.
    NOTE: After you remove the Upperfilters value and the Lowerfilters value, if you notice lost functionality in a particular program, such as CD recording software, you may need to reinstall that software. If the problem recurs, consult with the software vendor for assistance.

    7. Restart your computer."
