    - This is what I have for a system that the kids use:
    P4 at 2.8
    2 gig ram’
    Win XP home
    150 gig HDD
    NVIDIA GeForce FX 5700
Monitor Gateway – 17” Wide Screen – FPD 1775 LCD

I bought this LCD for it and hooked up the DVI cable to my VC and the monitor and nothing happened.
    - I then hooked up the VGA cord and now it works - but just doisen't seem that clear.
    - So I have both the DVI and VGA cords hooked up but it keeps sensing the VGA.
    - I looked at the settings under advance but there is nothing to change this.
    - Is there something in the BIOS?
    - Where would I find this so I can chnage this so that it recognizes the DVI?
    - The VDC I have is also an MSI - 256 mb
    - Under settings advanced it states plug and play monitor.

I realize that this is a cheap monitor but I would like to optimize it if I already have DVI,

    Thanks in advance,

    B

There may be a setting in the menu for the monitor that tells it to use DVI for the input signal. So, press the button on the monitor to bring up the menu and just go through each item until you see DVI as an input option, or maybe you'll see VGA and you'll be able to enable/disable or 'flip' it from VGA to DVI. Good luck! Let us know how it goes!

(BTW- be sure to do the menu stuff with only the DVI cable connected from the monitor to the PC with the PC loaded to Windows. You can also make the picture clearer by using higher resolutions and higher refresh rates; a minimum refresh rate of 70 or 75 is a good place to start; you can set this in Windows by going to Control Panel > Display > Settings > Advanced > Monitor)
