Dynalink RTA 100+ & Ports.... Im lost

I am currently using uTorrent and I keep having the problem saying that I have limited to no connectivity, I have checked windows firewall and that's fine, and checking my firewall via my modem admin section, it says it is turned off, but uTorrent wont light up green and I keep getting an "!" mark, instead of a green light, and downloading my torrents are slower than a dial up connection, and considering I am on a 1500/256 connection, which I have selected via utorrent, this just isn't right.

I know my way around windows and PC hardware, but when it comes to modems, routers, etc I have absolutely no idea what I am doing or what I need to change, turn on/off, etc

Would someone lend me a hand to finally get me a solution to this problem, I have been trying to work it out since I got my connection up and running without any recourse. I downloaded a program called simple port forwarding, that does the work for you, however my Dynalink RTA100+ modem isn't in the supported list, and I don't know what other programs are out their that will do the work for me and support my modem.

P.S I even turned off windows firewall and checked it, made no difference, utorrent always reverts to blaming my ADSL modem configurations, I am not savvy in that area and have no idea on what to do or even where to start, I also flashed my modem to the latest firmware, made no difference, even reset it to the default configuration, again no difference.

 

I tried that originally and it wouldn't work, reason? because I didn't read it through correctly and jumped the gun a bit, following it now step by step, I finally got the green light!

One question though, when I run utorrent, I can't surf the web or check e-mail, and it downloads rather slow, I have a 1500/256 connection, and in uTorrent I selected the xx/256 as my connection, but it has made no diffirence to my download speed which is still at dialup level, and like I said, I can't surf anywhere or check e-mail, I have just had to close utorrent off just now to load this forum via firefox, even IE8 won't let me go anywhere.

Here's uTorrents connection settings:

Upload Limit: 22.0 KB/Sec
Connections (Per Torrent): 70
Max. Active Torrents: 2
Upload Slots: 3
Connections (Global): 130
Max Active Downloads: 1

Which seems to be the proper settings for my connection, hmmm, any thoughts and idea's would be greatly appreciated, I only use uTorrent for freeware downloads, which FlashGET also offers, but I got fed up with FlashGET, don't get me wrong, it is a excellent downloading application for pausing/stopping & resuming downloads, other than that though, it seems useless, and as I found out recently without knowing it, Firefox lets you resume downloads as well which is a big PLUS for me, because of the problem with uTorrent hogging my connection is one reason alone.

Oh well, until I hear from you guys I am going to play Batman - Arkham Asylum, I just love that game! Plays real nice on my new PC Setup as well!

Talking about games, where's a good place to get game patches and mods, I have bought myself Batman Arkham Asylum, Rogue Warrior, and dug out my old Max Payne 2, Far Cry 2 and Rainbow 6 Vegas 2, but they are original installs, sometimes patches can make the game perform better, batman for instance runs around 25fps @ 640x480 @ Medium, surely their's a patch that would increase the performance atleast by a little bit?
