This issue is new to this system, I just had it happen now to two moives I wanted to watch, they do not show up as being in the dvd/cd drawer.

I click on my computer, then E/drive shows nothing in there.
I tryed other movies they work fine, data disks work fine music good.
    It burns fine too.
So went on web said might need driver up date.

Now lost. I got ATI radeon 7000 serires but it says don't update unless you know what your doing, and I tried going to Devive Manager dvd/cd-rom drives I got 2 in there SCSIVAX DVD/C-ROM SCSI Cdrom Device and SONY DVD RW DW-D22A
I put those in google and my head hurts from reading about removing drives useing only one stick of ram and turning off mirror drives, beyond what I will do.

    Any help here please?
I know this is over what I am willing to touch on my own.
How do I up date the driver/s without removing parts to watch the dvd's that wont show up?

If you tried other movies and it played them, i would assume that the two movies are bad, or burnt copies. ed

I should have added to that the movies in question play in the tv associated dvd player no issues, but not on the comp.

    Sorry for that.

Are they brand new commercially sold dvd's? If so what Movies and from which movie house (Warner Bros etc)? They could have a form of protection which prohibits them from being played on a computer dvd drive.

Also, do you have AnyDVD running by any chance?

Right click my computer/properties/hardware/device manager/click on your dvd drive/go to region and see if it is set, might be out of region. ed

And the dvd's are from the same rent a flix type rental.
One is WB and the other new line AOL time warner company.

That will be your prob, right there. I bet if you right click on AnyDVD in the taskbar (down near the time etc) and select exit, then try your dvd, it will run.
Update your AnyDVD and you shouldn't have any further problems.

So how did it go? Was it the AnyDVD acting up as I suspected?
