E-mail Problems

This is primarily FYI. I don't know if anyone else has a non-geek friend who screws up their e-mail by forwarding cute stuff with a wrong suffix, but I FINALLY think I have found out a way to correct it.

After countless forwarded emails (mostly funnies) that have attachments always (in my friend's case) saved as "message.txt", I have learned to save them to my desktop and attempt to open them with 'some' program other than TEXT or word file. Because when I do, I get the written part of the message, but the included or embedded photo shows up as nothing but gibberish text.

And YES, I have, repeatedly, communicated this fact to her. Yes, she is blonde.

Long story short: This morning I finally tried opening the .txt message and then "save as" [message.eml]. This opened the message in an email format with the attached picture actually showing as an attached .jpg file. Voila!

I was then able to see the pic as it was intended. Amazing.

Hope none of you TRULY INTELLIGENT folks have ever had this problem. It only took me 4 months of digging and scratching my balding head to come up with this answer. I know, Kodo, I should have just PM'd you, first.
