I have a problem and didn't know where to post it, so here goes....

I have 28 e-mails to download, but it keeps getting stuck at #11. Some nice helpful person has sent me something so big that my dial-up just sits there trying to download it even after half an hour

Is there any way I can override this? I am getting tired of reading the first 10 e-mails and never getting to see the last 17. I've tried both OE and Thunderbird so it isn't a software issue either.

Have you tried telling the client not to download off the server? Do you have a webmail interface that you could delete the email from?

Webmail interface a good idea Goldie...I was just looking into it when it finally finished downloading through OE. Some **** who I hardly know sent me an MP3 !!!

Now for very polite e-mail back to him ;)

Thanks for your advice buddy :)

It sounds like, ms outlook, and\or trying to work off line…….at the art gallery that I work at, we have outlook and a dialup, and if you should get booted offline, outlook downloads, all of the email, over again……..I had to tell, the others, to put email they wanted to keep, into a folder, rather then the mailbox, otherwise outlook keeps loading them………if you don’t need a few, (out of the first ten), delete a few…….or go into preferences and change out it loads…..ie, new email and or old together…….wobbles

Thanks for the advice wobbles. It was a 4mb mp3 as an attachment. Not very helpful when you are on dial-up. I mailed the guy back and his reply to my very tame reprimand was "hope you are in a better mood next time"

NEXT TIME??? There hadn't better be a next time :p

I have asked numerous times for a "friend" not to send me 4MB videos, Mp3 or 26 deep aol forwards.

He just does not get it. So, I killfilled his email. all of it now is deleted at sendmail.

Did you get it taken care of?

I could telnet in for you and nuke it, if you like.
