Earthquake in Haiti

I thought there was already something here someplace about the horrific earthquake that leveled Haiti, estimated 50,000 dead, countless still trapped.
I received this email , I gave $10 to the Red Cross, it's pittance I know but if enough people give it will help.

For anyone who wants to help:

If you live in the US you can donate by texting HAITI to 90999, or you can text Haiti to 45678 if you live in Canada. The former will add a $10 donation to your phone bill; the latter will add a $5 donation to your phone bill.

The Red Cross needs all the blood and plasma donors they can get, they are sending thousands of pints of blood to volunteer clinics in Haiti. This page will help you find a blood donor center near you.

Please donate what you can. Every little bit helps. Haiti was unprepared in every way for a calamity of this magnitude, and by all accounts it's in complete shambles. It's at the darkest times in human history that it is more important than ever for the human spirit to be bright. We are our brothers' keepers. If we have the means, we owe it to the victims to do our best to help them.

 

Good Link, Mims, I donate blood as often as I can. I am B+, and they freeze it so they can use more of it, and nothing goes to waste.. I'll make a special point this week to drop some extra I'll make some calls tomorrow, and see if they are collecting. I have to go into town anyway, might as well make it "count".

I hope everyone can donate to this. It is truly the worst I have ever seen. I donated blood today, and I sure didn't mind the wait, as there was a long line today That too was great to see
