Easycap usb video capture

I bought an easycap 2.0 so i could transfer my hi8 videos to my pc and then make dvd's of old videos.

It worked fine for the most part, the software the thing came with was somewhat low end so i used something else.

My problem is i don't get any sound in the videos, anyone have any solution to this?

I am using this on windows 7 64 bit operating system

 

If you go to device manager are there any yellow marks? Those EasyCaps are hard to use with win 7, usually it's a driver issue.
Also does the program your using to capture have a selection for audio source? and is the easycap in there? It might not say "easycap" I forget what driver it is... I gave up trying to make it work.

 

i do get yellow marks, the video capturing software doesn't seem to let me pick audio i think it tries to get my video card.

It was already a mess to actually get it even to work on win 7 and also to start recording and even then after configuring some settings the video is a tiny bit ''jumpy'' but still very tolerable.

I am kind of disappointed but wasn't expecting too much for a $10< video capturing device.

I wasn't going to use it for anything else other than transferring some hi8 videos from an old camcorder. I wanted to do this more than a year ago but then i got to this now because some months ago a very close family member passed away and i wanted to transfer some videos i had of her into dvd.
