Eathlink mailbox crashing

What makes you think this is a malware problem?


Do you have other symptoms?

 

Well it would be another forum like Software if any. We can check for malware but it seems unlikely right now that malware would just impact your earthlink email. Maybe you need to reinstall something for earthlink.

It's up to you what you want to try first. If you want to look for malware proceed down to
Malware Removal Steps below (which will take some time to complete), otherwise try the Software Forum or answer the below 3 items.

What was it that SpySubtract removed?
Did Norton remove anything?
You could also do a System Restore back to a time before the problem occurred. Assuming you have WinXp or Win ME.

- Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support

Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

- Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.


After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:

Did you restore to a point in time where there was no problem?

Your options are:
1) Try uninstalling, rebooting, and reinstalling your software from Earthlink
2) run the Malware Removal Steps

 

You are just wasting time.

Either run the steps I have given you are take your problem to another forum or back to Earthlink.

 

You can check with Earthlink before reinstalling to find out how this will impact emails and contacts and how to save them before hand if necessary.

The malware removal steps (which is part of this forum) will just make sure your problems are not being caused by malware. You probably should do these as it sounds like you have more problems than just Earthlink's mailbox. Shutdown problems may or may not be due to malware.
