Edge Chromium - New Tab Page

Hello,

I like the browser and it is quick. However I can't find a way of making the new tab page the same as my homepage (Google.co.uk).

Microsoft support forums not very helpful and seem to indicate you can't do what I want to do and you are obliged to use Bing.

Surely this isn't right, even in IE you could desinate a new tab the same as your homepage.

A step backwards if you really can't do this.

Has anyone found a way?

IIRC it took a while for before MS let us change the new tab options in the original Edge so we might just be waiting on new features just like before. Although it feels like a complete browser it is actually still brand new. Just give it some time to grow.

The 'Change New Tab' addon will allow you to set a custom new tab page.

Haven't used the new Edge at all yet but happy to have it on board so can use it as and when. Will have to be pretty good to match FF.

I still use waterfox i don't like edge due to less options.Can not even block ad's.

 

Not true at all. Take a look at the Chrome version. I've only been using it for an hour or two but have to admit - it's very capable.

 

I don't like chrome for many reason but here is a list you should think about when you are using google chrome.

They will store information for years and years on end.

 

We aren't talking about a Google product here. It's the new Microsoft Edge by Microsoft. Built on the open source Chromium software.

Waterfox were already funded by Microsoft (Bing) so in reality have some of the exact same privacy concerns as Google. Also Waterfox has recently partnered with another company raising even more concerns. Privacy browser Waterfox appears to be sold to System1, a U.S. pay-per-click ad company that recently bought a majority of the Startpage search engine

 

I don't use Google Chrome, I use Firefox. Oh, and AdGuard Adblocker is available for Edge from the MS Store. Get your facts right.

 

I prefer uBlock Origin. To each their own though.

Edit: You can go to the Chrome web store and click the button allow addons for MS Edge browser.
