Edge Files Open In Internet Explorer Instead Of Edge

I have some MHT files. In Windows Explorer, they all have the Edge icon next to them, but when I click on them, they open with Internet Explorer. I've tried to reset them Using Settings > Apps > Default Apps > Choose Default Apps by File Type and then setting .mht to Microsoft Edge so they open in Edge, but they keep opening in Internet Explorer.

How can I make them open in Edge?

 

I've also tried changing my Settings > etc. to have Internet Explorer files open in Edge but the files keep opening in Internet Explorer.

 

For what it's worth...
I can't remember what I did, but I managed to get MHT files to associate with and open in Edge like it did before. When I click the 3 dots at the top right of the window (Settings) and look at the bottom of the menu, I see "Close Microsoft Edge".

At least I no longer get the note at the top of the window stating the file has been opened with Internet Explorer.
