Edge Is Now Blocking Microsoft's Own Downloads

OK, so I appreciate the idea behind MS trying to protect from nefarious downloads...but this is just dumb. And the definition of overkill. This feature is wildly annoying, but now seeing they are blocking the download of MS Teams (their own program), I'm saying no-mas to this feature.

Can anyone tell me how to turn this off? I have a sandbox, so I'm fine and my downloads are safe.

 

Any thoughts on this? It's likely not Smart Screen, as I 've already tried disabling that.

Leaving this here for anyone in the future. Apparently reading articles about turning SmartScreen off/on are a waste of time and have nothing to do with this issue. This is a quote from a mod on a Linux forum regarding this issue:

"This has got nothing to do with Edge itself, per se.

The same thing happens with the Linux build of Edge, too. This is inherited from the "core" Chromium code-base at The Chromium Project; this is the 'protected', immutable part of the code-base that no third-party developer who builds on top of it will EVER be allowed to disable or modify.....because Google have baked these changes in, since they deem them to be necessary for security.

You'll see it with Opera, Iron, Vivaldi, Ungoogled Chromium, and Chrome itself.....and you CANNOT do anything to stop it."
