Edit DVD Subtitles?

    Hello:
    I am having trouble watching a DVD Full rip I've made of a movie. The only audio supported for this movie is Japanese, and it comes with various language subtitles. The problem I am having is that the subtitles are so bold that I cannot read them. Does anyone know of a way I could edit the subtitles in one of the DVD files so they're not so bulky I cannot read them?
