I have a PDF file with three documents in it but they were not created by me.
I want to change some of the text but for some reason my editor will not do it for me, I can type in new text but it just runs over the old text and does not erase it.
I am on widows 7 pro and the editor is Acrobat 10.
    Any suggestions please.

P.s. i scanned the documents into the PC

Open the scanned copies, and "save as" with a different name. See if they are now able to be edited.

    Still no joy.
I have re-scanned them in other formats but no joy.
If i scan them as a word document i can edit it but the whole format of the document is changed and is useless.
I will come back to it tomorrow as i have been at this for the last 4 hours non stop and my eyes are now broken.http://bestsmileys.com/eyes/14.gif

Looking through the Adobe forum, I found this for deleting something.
You might want to post at the adobe forum if that doesn't work.

Hi Bill, thanks for your reply.
Did you check out the Google link?
The first link was to PDF Editor
    at http://www.smartpdfeditor.com/?gclid=CKLKk6zAuasCFQtU4god5DQUeA

Also a Pro version is available.
I haven't tried either, but they look like they might suit you. ;)

    Thanks Barry.
I managed to find SODA as a 14 day free trial and it is better than Acrobat but it is just the same.

I can edit PDF documents from my files but it will not let me edit documents from the scanner????????
I have given up on this project now because my brain hurts.

Having done a little more research it may be to do with the OCR function, I can scan OCR to word but it changes the format of the document and it is useless it also could be part of the anti fraud measures (to stop you altering invoices and such ) but i have now given up and decided to to it the long way by re-creating the document in full with my alterations but with my typing speed http://img40.imageshack.us/img40/1244/is2011108.jpg it will take some time (i have already wasted 2 days)
