    Hi
Is there a way to edit the start menu/documents so that pictures (specifically jpg) do not show up.

My problem is that when I view pictures they bump other items out ot the start menu/documents.

    Thanks

I think you're referring to the Recently Viewed list, right? If so, you're best bet is to turn off the Resectly Viewed feature. Right-click your Start button, select Properties, click the Start Men tab, click the Customize button, click the Advanced tab, you can then un-check the box for "List my most recently viewed documents" and the list will no longer appear. If this list isn't what you're talking about, you'll have to explain the problem more clearly, or provide a screenshot.....

Thanks very much for your reply dlb.
I am hoping to find a way to customize the start menu so that I do not have to disable the recently viewed list but set it so that jpg's are not included in the list as they are not documents.
I can understand why Word and Excel are included in this list but why would jpg's be included.
This is just one of my pet peeves I would love to find the fix for.
I use the list all the time but the docs and xls keep getting bumped off the list when I view pictures.
I have attached a screen shot so there is no mistake what I am referring to.
    Thanks again

OK... you'd think there would be a registry setting that can be changed to filter out JPEGs from the list. I did some quick Googling but didn't get anywhere, but then again, I didn't spend more that 5 minutes. :-o

    Good luck!

Yea, you would think so. I have spent quite a bit of time googling this but no luck.
Hoping someone out there knows the answer to this.
