eee pc

I have an eee PC and it's not booting and I can't restore it to it's original settings.

Any ideas?

When I boot this happens.

 

First thing to do is check that the hard drive/SSD and SD cards etc. are all correctly fitted.

If they are, you'll need an external USB CD/DVD drive and/or access to a 2nd PC and a USB stick/pendrive you can make bootable.

I think this would be better posted or moved to the linux section of the forum, judging by your screenshot

 

You mean the F9 on boot Factory Restore did not work?

 

I've tried booting Ubuntu, the disk that came with it and F9.

How would I check the HD is installed correctly?

Depends on which model and hard drive you have, some (all?) of the SSD drives are non replaceable

Can you hit F2 (when you usually press F9) and see what options you have there?

 

IDE = siliconmotion SM223AC

 

Try tapping the F9 key before the BIOS screen displays and do a recovery.
You can also do a reset there's a small hole on the bottom of the laptop you can poke a paperclip through and do a hard reset. Also try reseating the memory and SSD.
