I am in desperate need of some help here.
My mother's computer has a virus, surprise surprise.
It is called Lass.exe
We have norton, but the virus is blocking any virus definition updates.
The current virus definitions are from 2001.
I have tried downloading multiple programs from this site and if they download, then they "Are not a valid win32 application."
Yes, Egad batman!
I don't know how to fix this. I can't locate it in the registry and I don't know how to manually delete it, and I can't find it online.
Help me please!
Now I know why I always stick with macs.

Have you tried to do the online scans in step 6 of the READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support ? These, if your moms operating system supports it, are done from safe mode with networking in which case only minimal windows processes load instead of the processes and the viruses like in normal boot mode.

 

Hiya, I'm currently in Safe mode with networking. I can't run bitdefender because I get a Page cannot be displayed. I can see the virus, now it is running as lUass.exe, in the processes tab. It will not allow me to end the process because access is denied. Do I go ahead and try panda also?

 

Yes, try to run Panda. Aside from you'll have to wait for chaslang or Shadow_Puter_Dude to step in...they are much more knowledgeable in eradicating and killing these processes than I am.

 

No luck in trying to run Panda.
I was trying to access anymore when the computer had its first major freakout and I had to manually shut it down.
But I can wait til those other guys come online.
