Trying to add a BFGR62256oc to this machine. Can,t or have not been able to find support for how to disable the onboard graphic. Tried going into divice manager and uninstalling the adapter drivers, but not working. Think I have to go into bios or and jumper settings. Any help out the Major Geeks:major

Generally speaking, when a video card is installed in any PC, it automatically will over-ride the on board video controller. Occasionally, you will run into problems. So, first go into the Device Manager w/o the card installed and disable the on-board video adapter. If you uninstall it, Windows will try to reinstall it. So right click on it and select Disable. Restart the PC (still w/o the video card) and go straight in to the BIOS and make sure the PC is set to initialize the video card first. There should be a setting called "Init VGA" or "Initialize video" or something similar and you can set it so the appropriate device is listed first. It should work regardless of the setting, but occasionally it must be set so the video card's slot is first. Save the BIOS settings, exit the BIOS, and shut down before Windows begins to boot. Unplug the power cord from the rear of the PC, and unplug the monitor from the PC. Open the case and install the card. Some newer video cards have their own power connectors so pay attention to this if applicable. Be sure the card is fully seated and connected, plug the monitor into the video card, then plug in the PC power cord and boot up. It should boot to the Windows desktop and the hardware wizard will probably open, and the color scheme might look really weird. At this point, cancel the hardware wizard and put the video card driver CD in the CD/DVD drive and let it install, and restart when done. That's it!

(NOTE: some systems -esp. those with SiS chipsets- require an AGP driver to be installed before an AGP video card can be used correctly; check with your manufacturer for the details on your particular system.)

EDIT- I checked with the EMachines web site; you do not require a separate chipset driver for the AGP slot.
