Email Backtracking

    I don't know if this falls under software or networking. I was wondering if there was a way outside of using outlook, like hotmail, yahoo or gmail that you could trace back an email?

    I know that the servers they use can be hard to trace and it is possible the person could be using their own email server..just wondering all the same.

    I will just leave it at there is a situation where once we can find out where they are coming from the justice system can take over from there.

    Yes likely the ISP or email provider can trace the route of an email from IP to IP but in the main an end user cannot, need to if you have abuse issues with emails to get intouch with the ISP and have them deal with the legalities.
