Email Issue

    I was having some malware issues that I was able to clean up through the guide and some help from the wonderful people on the malware board.

    My email server is now running weird (we use go daddy) when I called them to tell them issue (when hitting reply it no longer auto-populates who to send to, won't let me attach any files, there's a strange almost box around the message section, etc.) They stated it's an IE issue and that they do not trouble shoot that.

    I have windows vista. Using IE (I think version 9, it's the most updated version).

    Don't know what to do? Any solutions?
    This is a work computer have to be able to use my email
    All help is very appreciated.

    Try a different web browser such as Firefox. It won't conflict with IE and wil prove whether it is an IE problem or not.

    I did try it through firefox on that computer and the email did work just fine through that (I don't like using other browsers though).

    The email also works fine on IE on every other computer in the office (and at home) and on my tablet. Just won't work thru IE on that one particular computer.

    Hey pandaace, take a shot here and reset IE and see if that helps. A setting may be changed that's causing, it's a big may be but worth a try.

    2. If I reset IE will I lose things like my favorites?

    To reset IE the following will help HERE

    No it will reset IE settings to default, it will remove your Home Page/s but you can add them again (removing Home Page/s is only removing the links that open when you first start IE and not the URLs in Favorites)

    Compatibility settings that Earthling mentions is a good option to try as malware and the removal of may have changed something and to use Compatibility settings its HERE

    I'm taking it this Email Server is an online one accessed via IE?

    Autopopulate of email addresses or the listing may have been removed as part of the malware cleaning procedure, and its one of those things that in time will re-populate the email addresses so when you start typing a name it adds the email address.

    For attaching files, do you get any error messages at all?

    If you click in IE Tools > Manage Add-ons do you see a Workspace Webmail Tools plugin file at all? seems to be something that may need re-installing (although I cannot see a download, but it maybe via your GoDaddy account when logged in)

    Compatibility Setting, worked perfectly. Up and running just like normal.
